Good morning friends and colleagues,
No matter the industry, companies are always trying to find a new competitive edge and untapped market places.
From my understanding, organic foods is one of the fastest growing market segments in the food/agriculture sector.
If you are within the clean energy, energy efficient, and water sector, one market you should explore is the Organic Farming Industry, specifically the California Certification of Organic Farmers (CCOF): http://www.ccof.org/
About 7 years ago I consulted for a marketing firm that had CCOF as a client (they still do today). I quickly became impressed with CCOF. Fast forward to today, my current employer is a member of CCOF. I recommend CCOF to companies wanting to work with like minded individuals when it comes to sustainability and the environment.
CCOF is made up of farmers, food processors, packagers, the works. They have over 2300 members, located in 30 plus states, and are an international organization. They are the premier certification in the market for organic foods that I am aware.
If you have worked with the Ag industry in the past, then you know that purchasing decisions are made very carefully and delicately. The same goes here. However, the topic of energy efficiency, sustainability and water conservation is a much easier conversation to have.
I hope this information is useful.
